The 2021 conference was the conference of last-minute changes and 18 months’ worth of planning going out the window because of hard border closures.
The majority of our speakers could not get into WA, so we had to improvise by finding local speakers at the last minute, getting international speakers to prerecord sessions, and the national speaker doing a Zoom session, even though the wifi at Crown went down moments before he was due to present. In spite of all this, the principals loved the conference and loved being able to spend quality time together again as the previous years’ conference was cancelled. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and it showed that the strength of our association lies in the support and friendship we provide for one another.
